About Life Start

She’s never been good at good enough.

This boss is a different breed — and it shows in every class we teach.

She has a question for you that has nothing to do with how to pronounce her name: why should learning to save lives bore you to death?

Business owners everywhere were forced to pivot, challenge traditional methods and move outside their comfort zones. Life Start was no exception. Since launching in 2016, our vision hasn’t changed — change the stigmas surrounding first aid through awareness, education and better emergency response training.

“First aid training CAN be different than it’s always been.” Khryspn Jensen, CEO

Passion, quality training and a positive attitude create a lasting impact in our communities. As training needs evolved we committed 100% to adapting — doing things our own way so our programs stay relevant and effective.

Leading the charge

We can lead the charge into change.

With our own approved programs we can pursue innovation and pivot training methods to better serve the first aid training world. We’re developing programs laser-focused on quality, engagement and effectiveness — and launching initiatives that give back to the community.

01

Coast to coast

A proudly Canadian-owned company expanding nationally — approved to teach in NB, NS, PEI, MB, SK and AB.

02

Interactive by default

Most of our class time is hands-on. Whiteboard skills replaced by Hollywood-style makeup and real scenarios.

03

Standards, raised

Cardiac arrest survival rates have stagnated since 2012. Something isn’t working — so we changed how it’s taught.

Real stories from real classes

Let’s travel back to your last first aid class.

The instructor walks in, lectures about paying attention, and you must pass the test with at least 80%. You open your book, endure the slideshow, and drift off thinking about dinner. Then the instructor says 30 compressions and 2 breaths — and you’re like wait a minute, hold up.

People are tired of things “always changing”, but CPR guidelines haven’t changed that much. You still breathe for people — they need the 16% oxygen left in the 21% you exhale — and you compress hard to circulate blood and keep the brain alive.
